A young man who was riding an OC Transpo bus in Ottawa has been accused of sexually assaulting multiple women. The police have identified him and reported that they made an arrest. The young man in question is just 15 years old.
The first report came to police on May 31. At roughly 7 a.m., the report claimed that a teenager had touched a woman inappropriately on the bus. He was said to be wearing a black backpack at the time of the alleged assault. This happened on the No. 85 bus, as it was driving close to the Lincoln Fields Station.
The second report came in on June 8. This also happened in the morning, and it was on the very same bus. A different woman was involved, though, and it was not reported whether or not the bus was near the Lincoln Fields Station at the time.
Either way, the police were able to identify the young man on June 13, a week later. They then arrested him, and he's being charged with sexual assault. At this time, it appears he's only being charged for the incident that happened back in May. However, police are aware of both incidents and they are also worried that more women may have been assaulted and not reported it.
It is very important for young people to get a fair trial when facing serious charges like this. A conviction and sentence could have a significant impact on the rest of the person's life. Those who are being accused must know what legal options they have.
