Two men from Ottawa facing multiple drug charges

The police in Ottawa performed a traffic stop, but the results of the stop ended up being far more than anticipated for something so common—something that usually results in a ticket or a warning. Instead, the police arrested two men, and they are now facing drug charges. These were handed down after an investigation was carried out by the police department.

The men are both from Ottawa, and they were pulled over on Thursday, October 22nd. The traffic stop happened right after 7:00 p.m., and it reportedly took place near Highway 17 and Highway 11.

One of the men is 31-years-old, while the other is 55. Both men are facing similar charges, which include the possession of methamphetamine pills and the possession of marijuana. The most serious charge is for cocaine, though, as they're being charged with possession with the intent of trafficking the drug.

The North Bay Police came in to seize the drugs and hold them as evidence. According to reports, they found six pills that were determined to be methamphetamine, to go along with 13.5 grams of marijuana. The men were alleged to have possessed more cocaine than any of the other drugs, leading to the trafficking charges, as they were carrying 84 grams.

In total, the authorities think that all of the drugs are worth about $10,000 on the street.

Those who have been arrested need to know all of their legal options, as well as what to expect during the legal process; including what it takes for trafficking charges, versus charges for possession, to be handed down.
